Susan Klopman
Susan is a partner in the litigation and employment law boutique H&K Law, LLC, which she co-founded in 2014. H&K Law was listed in U.S. News & World Report as one of the “Best Law Firms in Colorado” in 2016. Prior to that, she was a partner at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, P.C. Susan provides high-touch, customized representation to employers in state and federal court and before administrative agencies in all facets of employment law. She enjoys finding creative business and legal solutions for her clients, which include select executives and high-level managers. Ms. Klopman also counsels and litigates on matters related to ADA, ADEA, Title VII, FLSA, FMLA, the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act, the Colorado Wage Act, the drug and alcohol testing regulations, trade secret and non-compete law, among others. In addition to authoring several articles on various areas of employment law, she has been a speaker/trainer on topics ranging from association claims under Title VII/ADA, physical threats in the workplace, to performance management and exit strategies. Ms. Klopman wrote Gender Still Matters: A Primer on Gender Discrimination Law for the Colorado Lawyer publication in October 2012. Ms. Klopman recently presented for LawBank on “Facing the Giants,” a Trial Lawyer Roundtable on March 24, 2021. She has been recognized as a Colorado Rising Star® for 2010, served as the President of the Colorado Lawyer Trust Account Foundation (COLTAF) in 2014-2015 and was recognized as a Top Lawyer in 5280 Magazine from 2017-2021. Ms. Klopman was selected to Super Lawyers for 2020-2021. Ms. Klopman received her A.B. from Mount Holyoke College, magna cum laude, and her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of St. Ives.
